Default S&W Model 586 4" Air Pistol (Hand Ejector)

Since there is no designated area for S&W Air Pistols I am posting some photos of this one here in the lounge......
Came across this locally and it appears to have been only lightly used.

I have never encountered one of these but I see they are still in production in 4" and 6" and I am told there was an 8"
And you can interchange barrels quickly with a wrench provided in the case......so I may try to find a 6" barrel.

The quality seems very good and it's made of mostly metal and actually quite hefty, fairly comparable to the weight of my real 4" 586.
I took a couple test shots and the report is pretty loud, I would compare to a .22 short. Not much recoil at all.

I'll give it an accuracy test in a few days.
Enjoy!!

Got a few of them - including the 8". They are accurate and have the "heft" and feel of the firearm. Great for indoor practice.

Certainly not as accurate as my Walther CPM-1 which I use for indoor air pistol matches, but a step above the "Toys" that are out there for sure!!

I have one with a 6" barrel that is about 10 years old and doesn't have the ugly white lettering on it. I have five magazines which gives 50 continuous shots which is almost exactly what a CO2 cylinder holds and mine is accurate and has a great SA trigger and an OK DA trigger. I like it a lot and have killed a few squirrels with it.

Are those manufactured by umarex ?
If so i have some experience with one , found them to be reasonably accurate with a decent S/A but terrible D/A trigger

Yes they are - last airgun manufactured by S&W was the 78g/79g that were modeled after the 41
