Default Smith & Wesson ear protection vintage

I haven't seen many of these before but some of you can probably fill me in on the history.
They have a quality build.

The construction is nearly identical to the Sigtronics and David Clark communications headsets I wore for 30 years.
Btw those co.s still sell the earpads as iirc they only last a few years.

I have a pair of them, bought used at a gun show because I'm a nut for S&W marked stuff. I believe that they are David Clark model 19A muffs. I say that because I got replacement ear seals and dome filters for the model 19A and they fit. I had been using David Clark model 10A muffs for over forty years; they have shallower domes but are otherwise identical in appearance.

I had a pair many years ago, but newer technology is a lot better. These were made in believe in the mid to late 80's and were only made for a few years.
