S&W Blackie Collins Bowie
Added a Blackie Collins to the family. Missing the box & paperwork which equaled a lower price along with not being pristine, which is fine with me. I'll have it cleaned up & treat the sheath with some leather cream. It was marked as a 1976, but I think it says 1975 on the stamp. I like it, feels good in the hand.
My interest in these was sparked by a post ko41 made about them & then k22fan help educate me on them. I then did some reading about them from various sites in the inter webs & wanted the bowie version.

Always thought the Blackie Collins series were nice knives. I acquired a Survival and Folding Hunter along the way.

I've been putting pure neatsfoot oil on the sheath all afternoon/evening.
I'm extremely happy with it

I have one of those too. The knife sure is a quality piece, but to me it seems the sheath is'nt up to the same standard. Is it just me or maybe I do not understand sheaths?

That's a nice blade and I hope to run across one myself.
Here's my Blackie Collins folder in the original box, sadly it's the only one I have......yet.

I have one of those folders too. Seems they were made for LE. I think the Blackie Collins series were some of S&W best made knives.

125th Anniversary Blade Etched in gold with Horace Smith & Daniel Wesson pictures flanking ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIFTH banner markings. Keep an eye out for the oh....so....elusive "serialized limited edition" which I have only found one of so far (two digit serial# 6X) and Bangor Punta era Blue Box. 6060 S.K.U. number with 109 series belt sheath. Instructions on how to open with DOT design to stay on L.E. belts Basket Weave design on front and S&W Logo emblazoned on the back.
Pictures to follow.
