I am curious about what came in the box of a new 39-2. I know there was the S&W paper, instructions, and a cleaning kit. So what did that consist of? I found an auction pic online that shows a plastic bag with some tools but can’t make out 100% what they are.


So are these the tools that are in the bag? Also what else was in there? Grand dad had a bunch of stuff in his cleaning kit and I am thinking these came with the 39-2, and I wanted to put them back into the correct box.

It should have the two items in your second photo, plus a bore brush (seen in the first photo) and a swab (not really well seen).

The cleaning rod looks to be WWII GI for 1911 A1’s, is it steel? Screw driver looks in great shape.
