Knife deal?
Picked these up yesterday from a Surplus and Salvage company that has numerous stores in Maine.
I usually don’t find any deals but everything you see here I got for $41 so maybe I did ok?
Old Timer I’m familiar with but Bobcat Knives don’t ring a bell.
I found their website and the knife you see here. Supposedly American made.
Anyone know anything about them?

That's a very nice Damascus bladed Bowie, sort of in the style of Moran or the earlier makers. Usually I find that the gaudier the packaging, the cheaper the knife but in this case it looks very well made.
If you found their website, how much is the same (or similar) knife?

Don't know anything about the maker but I will say that I'd bet you could sell that Bowie for $100 at any gun or knife show, swap meet, biker run, etc. etc. It's pretty enough someone will want it. I'd say nice score.

That Bobcat Screaming Eagle knife is $59.99 on Amazon currently, so I"d say you got a decent deal. Reviews weren't all that great, but people should realize at that price they're not getting a high quality working knife.

That isn't a Damascus blade. If you knew how they were made you would be able to differentiate.
Not trying to be jerk. Most people don't know.

Since most people don't know, would you care to elaborate/enlighten why that's not Damascus?
It doesn't look like the etched imitation Damascus that's often passed off as genuine.

Well, I have to admit that I didn't bother researching someone else's knife and I just went with what I could see in the pictures. I've collected knives for over 40 years now, many of them custom made and I do own a few damascus blades.
So, if you are familiar with this brand how about enlightening us on how this is not damascus? Is it some sort of surface treatment perhaps? I sincerely would like to know. Before the covid lockdown I used to go to the local swap meet and I'd often see "damascus" knives with colorful bone handles that I suspect were or are made in China. I didn't waste any time with those.
