I don't have any thing that goes on this thread

You can actually find a lot of S&W knives online. The trick is finding the ones that are American made.....

You and me both!
There's something mighty fine about a good boot knife. Mine get tucked into my AF issued black combat boots... I don't wear my new green ABU boots around.

S&W had a line of American made knives, that were of good quality in the 70s and perhaps through the 80s, I forget the cut off. If you keep an eye on Ebay, they sometimes turn up and get overlooked amidst the PRC ones. You sometimes find the brochures for them in old revolver boxes, since cross promotion goes back some years.
The current S&W branded knives are made up by Taylor Cutlery who has vendors in China build them. Quality is usually mediocre.
The current boot knives are around 20 bucks or less. Though without the logo and in a crappier sheath, the exact same knife can be had for as little as five dollars. The tips break off if you stab anything hard with them.

I'd love to own an AMERICAN made Smith & Wesson folder. How do you tell the USA made ones feom the imports? I looked at one of the S.W.A.T. folders before and didn't see "China" or "Taiwan" on it anywhere. But then again, I didn't see "Made in USA" on it anywhere either.
How do you tell?

Zippo makes several different lighters with the S&W logo. Also have a stainless steel watch, made in Japan. It has Smith & Wesson on the dial and the S&W logo engraved into the back. I have had the watch for about 5 years and it keeps perfect time.

There is a abundance of S&W logo'd stuff out there.
I haven't added much in the last few years but have accumulated:
27 Die casts
21 Tie tacs
38 Belt buckles
8 sets of handcuffs
19 Coffee mugs and glassware
159 Knives
plus clocks, neon sign, holsters, pool cue, cards, pens, watches, ammo and catalogs.
1970's Blackie Collins designed series of knives.
Belt buckles, various manufactures.
Early 1980's Sportsman series knives.
Die cast toys and tie tacs.

ko41, thanks for posting those pics. I've got one of those Sportsman series knives that I totally forgot about. Still brand new in the box. Mine is like your middle one on the right hand side. Seems like I bought it in the middle 80s.

I've run across old handcuffs in the box and thought they were interesting. I don't see much about them in this forum, except that ko41 has 8 pair! Anyone have any knowledge about what to look for? Not interested in the new ones. Well, unless, no, better not go there!
I wouldn't mind having a pair of the old ones with the original box. Can someone educate me a bit on these?

Oh, my mother has been collecting S&P shakers since she was 18, so that is a pretty nice collection too.
My problem is I have a collection of collections!

I've got a full set of Zippos, minus 1, that a picked up for $50 at a pawn shop. I thought that was a steal for 7 lighters.

Unless you have lighters from the Smith & Wesson Athletic Association, you don't have a full set.

Smith & Wesson made handcuffs as far back as the 1920's. They made them for The Peerless Handcuff Company. Later they made them under the Smith & Wesson label, which they still make them today.
Here is a pair with its original box. They are from the late 1950's early 1960s.

Are you saying you paid $500.00 for 7 lighters? How much would you pay for one of these, if you could find one?

gunlovingirl, I have collected a few handcuffs. It does become addicting just like anything else.

Sorry, that was a typo. It should be $50. Auto correct strikes again.

It's the commemorative set in the felt-lined box. And the full set is 10, so I have 8 or 9. It's been a while since I had them out.
