Excellent S&W knives. I was lucky enough to work at S&W in Springfield. I had a job that brought me to all 5 plants in Spfd daily. It was 1978-79. Once I held a Blackie Collins in my hand there was no turning back. Leather goods & sheaths made 3 miles from the main plant was slick. I have his entire collection and some dupes. Took 30 yrs to accumulate them . But to have a display case !!! That's a big WOW !! I'll add it to my wish list . A really cool thing was when I had extra time I could hang out in any dept I wanted. I spent some time with the R&D group and saw the 6062 being created. I bought one as soon as it was available. Engraving department...Armorers School....my ID allowed me into a dept called "Hard Fitting" where guns were all fully assembled getting ready to ship.... 6 month shooting program...Lots of fun and too many stories. It's a pleasure to see the love of S&W collecting still going on. Peace.

Interesting. I've never had a S&W knife and then again I own the original knife made for S&W by Track Knives in Whitefish, Mont. Had it made about 1972. Then a couple years later I saw a very similar S&W model that Jon Sundra wrote up on. I checked with Track and sure enough, S&W did contract for some of them but to my knowledge my was the only one with a bone handle. Great knife, I designed it. My son has that knife now.

Blackie Collins did it right!
Of course I have all of the original S&W sheaths, numbers matching blue boxes, hang tags, and all paperwork!
That spine of the tip (or whatever it's called) on the Survival knife is as sharp as the rest of the knife!

Whoa... this is interesting! I have an original Track knife by Ithacagun. I know they were made in Whitefish. I didn't know they were made for S&W as well.
I saw one of these come up for sale recently and he was asking a fortune... and got it! I know, I called to offer him a little less. I believe the folder is more rare and sought after.
Show yours!
Please... more info... sir!

Added a new photo to my original post showing the Blackie Collins designed knives in the S&W dealer display case; with the cover closed to show the knife names.

Is this genuine S&W knife?
I bought this many years ago from Estonia.
I have carried it for many years on duty.
