Default SW Viper: UPDATE!

Anyone out there have one of these? They look neat, but wanted to check to see if anyone had one, how they liked it, etc., before I bought one. Thanks!

Don,
They're listed on the SW web site for about $28. They can be had for a few bucks cheaper with a search around the 'net, but I'd rather give the few extra bucks to the company. I've just ordered two!

The report below is from a quick Google search: I like the idea that the handle is aluminum and not resin.

"The new Smith & Wesson Viper knife opens and closes faster than any non-auto knife I have ever seen. Its the only knife on the market with the side flip instant open and close. The 440C stainless steel blade is concealed inside the knife handle. A lockout button on the top of the handle releases the blade to swing 180 degrees to lock in place, the same lockout button releases the blade to swing back into the handle.

The blade has a combo edge and looks like a double edge but is not. It has what is called a faux edge which means it looks sharp but it is not.
Includes a pocket clip for ease of carry.

This knife is so fast that I figure the powers that be will make new laws about it before long. So you should get them while you can."

Specs:
•Overall Length: 8"
•Blade Length: 3.5"
•Blade Material: 440C
•Blade Detail: Combo
•Handle Material: Aluminum
•Weight 3.2 oz.
•Lock Style: Button Lock
•Carry System: Pocket/Money Clip
•Special Features: Flip out blade

"Range" report:

I ordered two of these and they came in today. Very nice, seem well made. Not quite as "instant" open and close as I was hoping for and I actually considered sending them back. However, the more I play with it, the more I like it. Very nice balance, good weight and as it loosens up, its getting quicker. I consider them keepers.
*Disclaimer: the above text is in the singular as opposed to plural as I have relegated one to the safe so have only played with the one.
For the price, I'd recommend picking one up.
