Default S&W handguns poster (1980's?)...value?

I came across a nice condition S&W poster possibly from the 1980's entitled, "Smith & Wesson Handguns, the broadest handgun line in the world" with three sections; small and medium revolvers and the third section labled semiautomatice pistols.

Anyone have an idea as to its value?

A close friend showed me one of these posters this afternoon. I had never seen one before. Said he has had it for about 25 years. Anyone else seen them?

Bought four recently for $5.00 each. Mine featured a 686. Single gun pic only.

I have 2 identical to the ones in the original post. I got one while working at the Rod & Gun in Germany, and the other while working at a gun shop here in AZ. Got them both back in the '90s.

I always intended to frame one of them, but never got around to it. I have no idea as to their value, but I suspect it's nothing too fantastic. On the one hand, those were probably passed out in great numbers to gun shops, and perhaps to individuals at gun or trade shows at the time. On the other hand, many of those may have ended up being trashed in one way or another.

How's that for a wishy-washy answer?

(Actually, there are 4 sections on that poster...small, medium, and large frame revolvers, and semi-automatic pistols.)

Tim

I remember seeing them in gun shops in the '80s and early '90s.

I think the OP's is 1985. I have five variations and keep hoping to find another, hopefully earlier version

I feel old, maybe because I am getting old. Back in the 1980's, I used to go the the S&W Academy all the time. I stopped in right after the SHOT SHOW. They had an open box of these posters, along with 3 unopened boxes, containing 250 each. I was told, "Take all you want!". Not wanting to look greedy, I took a couple. My friend said, "Stop wasting my time and help me take all these to the dumpster." We stopped at my car first. I took home almost 1000 of them. I took some to a show and couldn't get $1.00 each. In the Spring of 2010 I had a flood in my basement and threw out the 750, still in their original boxes.
Today, if I had any left, I would be happy to get $5.00 each.

This poster came in several sizes and made from different types of material. I have several small ones, about 14" x 20" that are plastic coated and make great place mats. There used to be several stacks of these small ones at the front desk of the annual S&WCA meetings. Free for the taking, but not anymore. I sold a couple dozen at the Boise meeting for about $5.00 each. Ed.

A poster similar to the one in 635smith's post is shown on the wall
of the LAPD cop drama The Closer. Hard to get a good look at it as the
camera sweeps past but it may be the exact one.
