Default M&P 15-22 Extractor Gone

Took my new M&P 15-22 to the range Friday for the first time. First magazine had 25 CCI Blazers go down range with no problems. Second mag had 25 CCI MiniMag HP rounds again no problems. Third mag had 25 Winchester SuperX HP rounds. During that third mag I had several failure to feed and failure to ejects. I noticed the ejected cartrige was always about halfway out the ejector port.

Switched back to the CCI Blazers and a differnt mag and still had FTE's but only 2 or three per mag.

Ended up putting about 400 rounds total through the gun. I was dissapointed with the FTE's every mag. After getting home and looking over the gun I noticed the exractor is totally gone. Not sure when it came off but it's definitly gone! Anybody else notice the manual doesn't have a parts breakdown of the gun?

Called S&W CS and waiting for shipping lable to return gun. They told me they didn't want me to send the mags, just the gun.

Very happy with the groupings at 50 yards.

Hopefully they get these issues resolved!

Sorry to hear it, but not the first time its happened, they get you fixed up pretty quickly, and even give you a couple new mags. I had to send mine in 4 days after i got it, for the same issues. Over close to 500rds or so now, been problem free. Good Luck.

another thing to remember also, you have to be real paticular how you load the mags or you'll have issues.

well, like the manual says, load 1 at a time, pull the buttons on the side, just enough down to load 1 in at a time, and while you do this make sure to that the backend of the bullet is all the way back touching the mag, and make sure to tap the mag on your palm or leg, bench whatever, to better seat the bullets, im still no expert on it. But that should help you.

Txshooter, really appreciate all the good info you have posted on these issues. The magazine loading instructions are very good. I had seen them posted here previously and was sure to load them one at a time.

Still waiting on the shipping lable to get here via mail.

Doubt I'll get mine out and back before Thanksgiving.
