Default Nitro rifle

I just picked up a rifle, it has smith and wesson stamped on top front of barrel, A Sweden 327811 nitro with the husquavana symbol above it. Can anyone give me any info? It's 23 inch barrel

What caliber? sounds like one of the 1960's S&W branded imports. They are really nice rifles. We need pictures of course.

Most of these were imported as rifled actions and then stocked by S&W for sale in the US. They are the same as the Husquavarna rifle made & sold in Sweden and elsewhere. Nice guns. Ed

Wmurray,

I just posted a reply to another thread in this same section under the
title: bolt needed for Husky/S&W 30-06. It has some of the historical
information on the various Husqvarna rifles imported to the US.

Based on the serial number your rifle would have been imported in 1970
by S&W from Husqvarna in Sweden. Pictures would be helpful since there
were different iterations at different times. If you post pictures please
include shots of the butt plate, the script on the barrel and several views
of the stock.

Is there any script on the left side of the receiver other than the
serial number and Model A? I have seen some actions with
"Husqvarna Vapenfabriks" on the side and both the S&W log and
the Husqvarna logo on top of the action bridge.

You did not indicate the caliber. I would be interested in that information
also.
