Well, my finds so far are:

Sportsman Outdoor Superstore has some good deals going right now. I missed the .204 that I thought I wanted but do have a .308 heading in for $285 (+ $20 transfer). After the rebate, I will have a new hunting rifle for me for $230. Now to scope it. NOTE: now they have some models with Weaver Scopes on sale for $325 but as you will see below, I really don't need another hunting rifle right now.

Right after I purchased that, Sportsman's Guide put up some Compass rifles with non-name 3-9 scopes for the same price (+ $5 handling), leading me to add a .243 to the safe. Never had a .243 and thought that if my kid or a friend wanted to try hunting, that would be available...

You would think that was enough but then unfortunately I went by Gander Mountain the other day and they had just marked the remaining guns down to 50% off. I went to 2 extremes, snagging a Dimension .204 for $325 and a Venture .300 Win Mag for $250. Of course, both have some rack markings but for the price, I took them (they also qualify for the $75 rebates too ).

I sure hope that they all shoot really well at the range. Unfortunately now I have to wait to replenish my mad money before I can get some decent glass for most of them.

I have never shot one of those rifles, but I understand they are excellent. Thanks for posting.

In case anyone else is interested, just spied a few great deals at WoodburyOutfitters.com too. They have a 10% off sale going (with free shipping) and they have a few Compass & Ventures listed at $294. Resisting the temptation to add either a .22/250 or .30/06 to the safe...
