Default S&W 1500 in 3006

I was able to go to the range for the first time since early March. I took my S&W 1500 that has a 3x9 Nikon scope. I reloaded ammunition for the first time and the rifle really liked 150 grain Sierra Match Kings with 56 grains of IMR4350. I also shot some 150 grain Sierra Game Kings, most of the groups ran in the 1.75 inch range for 5 shots at 100 yards but for one group the jerk pulling the trigger did a little better and I got a 5 shot that was 1 inch edge to edge. Nice rifle.

I have one of those, same caliber, and I load the 165gr. Nosler Partitions and 165gr. Hornady interlocks, both my hunting bullets. I bought my rifle at a yard sale a few years ago, it had the deluxe walnut stock which I removed and I put a Hogue rubber overmolded stock on it, like the Howa 1500 rifles. I get MOA groups at 100yds. if I do my part. I prefer the 1500 rifles over the Rem. 700 rifles.

Howa 1500's are good rifles, mine is a custom 240 Weatherby Magnum
with a thumbhole stock. Super accurate.

the "jerk" behind the trigger is usually the culprit

That is one sweet lookin rifle Troystat! Built by Howa I believe? Good ole walnut and blued steel which I prefer. Much better looking than that new carbon fiber rifle from Howa with a M.S.R.P of $1,819. Read about it in the July issue of Guns&Ammo. Nice pic by the way.

I have typically found that all of my guns shoot better than I do......

Thanks Mauser 9 and Cory, Howa does make a nice rifle, in addition to the scope I changed out the hard plastic butt plate for a soft rubber one, I think it is from Pachmyer this helped with the recoil slightly and added a bit of length to the stock.
