Since this is a new posting area. I thought that I would post a bad pic of my S&W 3000 12 GA shottie, It is all original EX. Police Dept shot gun, It still has "Car 4" in paint on the folding stock. It's missing the cheek piece, But what can one do? I like Smiths, and this showed up at my local gun shop, I think I gave 225 for it, But it has a nice new home with a purpose of home shotty duty.

Peter.

Great shotgun there! I just bought a NIB blue/synthetic stock S&W police shotgun and hope to buy at least one more, maybe in the parkerized finish like yours.

I have no idea where it came from. I found the extention tube on GB and also added a clamp not shown on pic.
It was a local trade in here in SE PA.
I cant tell the difference between it and my 870.
It sure is a good copy!
Also made in Japan under S&W license.
It even has a S&W butt pad!

I've got one of those, but mine is marked "Model 1000P".

The folding stock and magazine extension were made by Choate.

It is good to have a place to show them. I have a SW Model 1000 Trap but no pic as yet. Here are some 3000s.

I kept a 3000 in my car for alot of years and still hunt with a Model 1000 pump I bought in 1983. I paid somewhere around $160-180 for each one. I have easily put thousands of rounds through the 1000 between hunting and clays. What a product.

Do you have another one of those cheek pieces for the S&W shotgun folding stock? I sure need one for my stock.

Bought my 3000 a few years ago from AIM. I was a regular walk in customer till they shut the walk in counter down. Anyway, I gave $150 for the shotgun with the regular synthetic stock. I bought the folder and extension from the net for another $100. Nice shotty IMO.

When I first became the Armorer for my department we had about 20 S&W model 3000 shotguns 20" blue with rifle sights. We had several weapon parts failures attributed to the lack of heat treating on the trigger , sear and other parts in the lower receiver. These guns were all built in Japan. We traded them off and purchased Remington 870's. About 2 years ago we located a mint unfired gun that had been stored and was missed in the trade off. It was converted for Simunitions . I attribute the mechanical failures to the constant racking of the guns when turned in or checked out of the armory. If you have a Japanese built 3000 which saw heavy use be careful.

So, I started my search for a 870 Police, looking in pawn shops and gunstores that have used shotguns. Well, I didn't find one, but found this Mossberg 3000.

Magnet sticks.

Notice 3 proof marks? on barrel by receiver.

I just bought a S&W Model 3000. Police gun , 18" brl. Shell extension , Floating sling mount in front . Wood stock , bead sight . S&W logo on all parts , includind rubber butt pad .
Never seen one...Looks like NEW... for $199.00 !! From a GanderMountain store no less.
The " made in Japan " made me think for a second. Then my mod 97 winchester copy made by Norrinco in Chine works great ! And it's not as pretty ! It's like an 870 , but better blueing and chrome parts too .
Throws a better pattern than my 870 , Must be a keeper . HUH?
