I took the rear sight off and put it on my SBR. No real need for it on this rifle. If the optic were to die I would just use it as a large ghost ring for the front.
This is the Alliance PD shoot house that EAG often uses for their classes. I was up there last week for a shoot house instructor development course.
The AAR is up here on the forum.

Cool. Thanks I was wondering if it was a super ninja scope mount which incorporated a rear sight or or if you were going to do it that way.
I have also been toying with the idea of doing exactly that for exactly those reasons.

It moves the gigantic thumb screw to the other side so that I can more easily work my flashlight.

Yup, that's why mine is on backwards as well.
And honestly, nothing changes with it being on forwards or backwards.

Really like the LaRue Index Clips. Added some to the 15-22.
Ill be swapping out the rail for a slightly longer one, and adding BUIS soon. Slow evolving project.

I'm new with AR Style Rifle's is there anything on this that looks stupid? I want to know before I take it to the range. I don't want to look like an uneducated mall ninja.
I'm not sure on accessory placement and all that. My first rifle was a 10/22, so this platform is new to me.
My 15-22 is finally done.. here is how it looks at the moment. I was lucky enough to have a buddy give me a brand new CTR Stock/Like New Forward Grip. He gave me the MIAD but I didn't care for it, it also took some modding because of a spring on the M&P15-22 so I went with the Overmolded MOE Grip (No mods needed).
Mostly what I have at the end of my bottom rail is what I'm concerned about. It functions as a finger rest/hand stop. Does it look ridiculous?
Sights aren't on backwards..They co witness the optic.
Is my Optic in a good spot since I'm not using a magnifier? (Primary Arms 30mm red Dot with cantilever)
Going to get more Magpul XTM Covers and ditch the 2 pieces of UTG near the magwell..
By the way I like the Magpul MOE+ grip. It feels like a hogue to me (it's over molded)
Anyone else have a 15-22? It's funny a rimfire can make anti-gunners uncomfortable...
The rest of my standard capacity magazines come tomorrow.

Very nice - looks good to go
Only thing I would personally change is to flip the handstop at the front of the bottom rail around 180deg. This would put the surface with the grooves/lip in contact with your hand, which may make it more secure when pushing against it.
Enjoy!
-- My bad, if you're using it as a front index point/finger rest, then it is the right way round!

If only our politicians would realize that these are "standard" capacity magazines and not "high" capacity magazines.

Pins
Parts for USA made guns are hard to buy in England so we have to improvise!!
The pins are made out of M4 caphead screws, the plain body of a long screw is about .0004 down on size.
The head is turned down and a groove cut in the other end to take an E clip.
They work well and cost not alot.
Parts from the US in England are generaly double what you guys pay.

All things being equal the further back a RDS is, the faster you can acquire it. If you aren't going to be running a magnifier ever, then you may as well pull it back to the rear sight, or maybe one rail slot in front of it.

I just recently became the owner of a really cool rifle so I liked to share a picture of what I've done with it so far.
UTG Red dot with Punisher skull engraved on, Purchased from NDZ, might I say "Awesome!"
UTG Bipod grip
and a little messy nail polish color fill

Very good looking and respectable set up! Flip up sights are on the right way and your red dot is in a good position. You'll see that most of us have it mounted right above the mag well which is where you have yours. Very nice set up and not overdone.

I thought the whole point of putting a brightly colored tip on a toy gun was to help the police differentiate between a toy & the real deal. I can't imagine having such a tip on a rifle and would think the police would not appreciate that.
To help prevent the dangers posed by toy guns, federal law requires fake guns to be transparent, brightly colored, or have a bright orange tip at the end of the barrel.

Its amazing how one minor change can make this fearsome "weapon of mass destruction" look like a toy.
Maybe that's all we need to do to make these anti-gun nuts go away Not serious of course...Jim (above) has an excellent point.

Both the SBR and Suppressor took 6 months to the day door to door. This was 6 months ago. From what I understand, times are about the same at the moment. Im about to send off for a few more stamps. Sure is addicting.

Hush! Don't tell me that. I'm 3 months into my wait for my 22Sparrow & probably will giggle like a little school girl when I bring mine home for the 1st time.

It is a barrel plug to keep debris out of the barrel. It is bright so you can see it is still there. It isn't hi vis orange, which the toy guns have to be.

Just my opinion, but I think doing so is a really bad idea. The bright orange tip, hi vis or not, implies a toy. An AR is not a toy.

I vote for lavender.
That said, I have never seen anyone cover a barrel with anything other than a balloon or a condom. You can shoot through either one without affecting anything.

The laws state high vis orange. If it isn't high vis orange what difference does it make if it is another easy to see colour.
AR's also aren't designed to be taken to airsoft fields and used like a toy, so what difference does the colour make on a range?
Majorlk, you can shoot through these. A .22 might not do it properly, but a 5.56mm's muzzle blast will open up the flash hider properly.

What difference? The nationwide law was established to help prevent law enforcement from accidentally shooting kids holding toy guns. In the old days, some toy guns were exact replicas of actual firearms & too many children were shot. They generally were shot in low light conditions where it was hard to determine if the officer was at risk. In such a low visibility environment you really want these officers to make a snap judgement about what shade of bright orange cap is on a gun?
In my opinion, if you are crawling thru swamps & really need such a barrel cap, paint the danged thing black. If others did something like this, putting bright orange caps on real guns, the whole intent of the law would be nullified. How could police know what type of gun they were looking at?
