It is a muzzle dust cover over the flash hider used when the gun is stored. When going to the range it is removed prior to packing it in my transfer case.

Thanks.
I went brute force with it. My telestock was pinned, but I removed the pin with a 5/64" drill bit. The bit tapped the pin, and then I just let it spin for a while. Then I backed the drill out and the pin came with it.
Then I used a sawzall with 12" and 6" metal cutting blades to cut out the base of the tube inside the A2 stock the stock slides over the receiver extension. This made a notch for the rib at the base of the receiver extension.
The fit between the stock and receiver extension is extremely tight, and I had a difficult time sliding the stock on. I put some slip 2000 on the receiver extension, and I still had a very difficult time getting the stock on there. It is so tight that I don't think I could get it off without cutting it. So the only thing holding it on is friction.
I just put about 175 rounds through it, and the stock did not move at all. It is rock solid.
The bottom of the stock does not mate perfectly with the receiver, but I can live with it.
One day I may remove the A2 (probably by cutting it) and then replacing it with a cavalry arms A1 stock.

Does the point of impact change drastically at different ranges with the scope that high above the bore? What kind of cheek weld can you get?

Fresh out of the box, Plinkster Tactical 35rd mag inserted.......and a Yankee Hill can on the end. Have my Slidefire on it now, getting ready to mod it to cycle CCI mini-mags (since I have a billion of them).

MOE Version --- comes with the Magpul Stock, MBUS Sights, Grip and a QD Sling Attachment mounted in the lower receiver..... If purchased individually you are looking at approximately $200. Current prices for MOE versions average $549-$569 (some higher on GunBroker). Worth the money to purchase the MOE -- use the money saved to purchase optics and ammo.....

Yeah it is definitely worth it. Especially if you like to use a one point sling. I have an MOE stock that I'm taking off a rifle when it gets here so it just kept me from having an extra MOE stock to deal with selling. That and I got a great deal on my MBUS, so it worked out for my personal experience. IMHO you can't go wrong either way!

FireManDan, your 15-22 is awesome! I really like the FSB and the carry handle.
What method did you use to get that A2 stock on your rifle? My method was very crude, but it came out pretty good.

What adapter did you use to make that work? Tacticool
22, with supplied nut from troy? I'm looking to do the same thing but with 12" hand guard.

Hey thanks C-C-B, I found the "Kick Brass" cleaning pad at my local gun shop. I was in looking at some stuff and it was stuck back behind the counter with some misc stuff. Of course I had to ask how I could get one and they said it was sent to dealers as a promo. The dealer just gave it to me. Just another reason I like doing my business with a local "Mom & Pop" shop. You're right...it would work good as a mouse pad too! Happy shootin!

Hey thanks bjb4242, The flash hider and front sight are from "Trushot Technologies" and are made specific for the M&P 15-22. I cut my fore grip down 2" to allow the front sight to set where it needed to be. I sent you a PM about the buttstock installation. Thanks, Danny. Happy shootin!

Tacticool22 barrel nut converter 1A (have to remove tabs on the upper) and the handguard uses a standard AR barrel nut (not supplied)

Looks too danged pretty to take out shooting. Sure don't want to get it dirty, do you?

I made mine. Measure the length you want and google paracord scorpion knot for that particular design instructions.

Standard 15-22 upgraded for a Montana lefty
The laser will probably go back on my Beretta 92A1 when it has rounds to shoot and an AFG2 will take its place.
Thanks for all of the great advice, instruction and motivations on this forum. My Plain Jane 15-22 is feeling much more like family now (and it eats as much as my family too).
Thanks to email alerts from Tactical Vantage I have my mags and a HUGE thanks to the In-Stock Ammo thread and the Cabelas Compare page as I also have a good supply of ammo to load into them.
And finally, Crayons??? Really??? Yep, they make things look awesome!

No, sir it won't. You need a magpul moe stock or CTR stock for it to work if I'm not mistaken.
