Bought from new - link below
Smith & Wesson 15-22 12" barrel model UK | Suffolk Rifle Company
I believe that this is a modification that the importer is offering, not actually a new model of rifle. I live in the UK; we don't need the same tax stamps etc that you guys do to get an SBR (the law here just requiries that the barrel is longer than 12")

Even with $200 for a tax stamp, it's probably cheaper to SBR here in the states. It just takes forever.

It looks great, but i wouldn't have cut the barrel until I got the SBR paperwork back. The ATF supposedly considers a completed upper or even the parts to complete it possession with intent to construct. If you have a pistol lower, you are okay. If rifle only, not so much.

Thanks for the info. The lower isn't even in my possession at the moment for this reason.

Almost there!!
Here it is, almost there now..... until I see the next potential mod....
Have my eye on a Scorpion Grip and then I think I may be somewhere where I want to be.
Definitely will not be dropping an expensive trigger mod in as I am not comp shooting so saving of several hundred $ there.
Then may have to start looking for next project
Still not decided on color fill or not?????

Looks great! I did the tacticrayola color fill on mine and then changed it a little. I did sort of a minimal job. Then I got my M&P9 and decided not to do anything to it. I guess what I'm saying is if you aren't sure, do it w/ crayons first...they're easily removed/changed if you want to play around with it. You can always do a longer lasting job w/ paint or nail polish later.

Keith,
See if your LGS will put one on a rifle for you to see if you like the feel. I found them so comfortable that I have the AFG on my 15-22, and an AFG2 on my Kel-Tec KSG (needed this model due to clearance).

I love my AFG2, I tried a vertical grip and my son hated it. The AFG2 is great for any size hands.

Hi Keith, will keep short so as not to hijack pic thread. Air fix type paint in 14ml tin and thinners. Then airbrush. Not brilliant match but fairly close. As for grips. I like the AFG2 acts as grip and rest in hand, without the "pull pressure" of vertical grip.
As you know most RFD/LGS don't stock this stuff so it's an expensive try after you buy type affair. Did you decide on rail covers? Have a bag of XTM in dark green if they would help any.
Mark (Rob).

I finally converted the handguard on my 15-22. Big brother recently got a new one and little brother always gets the hand-me-downs.
Converter - Tacticool22
Handguard - Rainier Arms 12" Evolution (made by Samson)
No mods to the receiver
It was a decent pic, but Flickr is starting to ruin photos like photostream did before I switched.

Yep.
It's an AD-T1-10 and the co-witness is lower 1/3rd. I've owned a lot of different QD mounts in the past and American Defense is by far my favorite. They're well worth every penny if you use the QD feature.

Sighted my MBUS in today since I swapped the handguard out, so I snapped a pic without the red dot. Gonna throw the 1-4 on tomorrow to do some gopher shooting hopefully. It's getting too easy with my AR.

My 15-22
I live in one of those ban states so nothing fancy here. Added a Magpul AFG. Front sling mount, and a A-2 handle. Have some Magpul black rail covers coming but wont be here until middle of the week.

Rear and front sites should be zombie green to even it all out. if you run the shroud, it also should be the same green color. JMHO

Got mine a few days ago. Over 300rds so far and not a problem! Love this thing, very accurate. Can't wait to start adding and customizing it to make it my own. That 30 dollar Aimsports red dot is actually pretty decent for a .22. Has held zero very well between range visits and several hundred rounds. Only had to make some minor adjustments on my last trip out to the range yesterday.

Absolutely - I'm really lucky to have a range like this just 45mins from where I live. 25mtr, 50mtr & 100mtr setup so it's perfect for everything I shoot!

Fun to own, upgrade and shoot!
You may have noticed I like dark earth....that is a Firefield 2.5x10 with a laser on the side, I also have a cheap flashlight mounted forward. The scope came with the gun; I have never heard of them before but I like it! I installed a GG&G sling adapter to switch to a single sling attachment; it is just behind the pistol grip on the buffer tube. I also installed a JP reduced power spring set and polished surfaces for a lighter and smoother trigger. Works! And the Magpul MS3 sling tops it off very well. With 5 25 rnd mags (2 sets doubled) we are ready for whistle pig season!

BTW...several other pics can be seen in this thread if you're interested.
15-22 MOE edition, with AFG2 and SPARC added. Barrel cut to 4.5".

Zort Version 2
Zort Version 2
Hi All this is my second build (Yep Sold my first one )
This time around I thought I'd try to keep it simple with the add on's and not spend more than what I paid for the 15-22 in add on's and it still came in around $225.00....
Used E-bay and original mfg's when needed
Parts: - Simons Scope 3x9 / 30mm
- A2 Rear Sight (came with Scope mount!)
- Houge grip
- NDZ SBR lever
- Magpul AFG
- NcStar laser(green)/ light (130 lums) combo
- MI rear QD mount
- Generic Front QD mount
- KNS anti rotating trigger pins
- Magpul QD sling 1 to 2 point sling
- 7- 25 round mags (total 8)
- 1- 10 round mag

What carry handle did you choose - I've been wanting to add one to my 15-22 but most of the reasonably priced ones seem to have horrible reviews - mostly problems with the sight holding adjustment.

My 15-22 as of now. This has to be one of the most fun rifles I've ever shot and I've fed it nothing but **** so far and it still holds up amazingly. I have a tacticool barrel shroud, canted flip sights, and ambi charging handle in the mail. Still need to flip the safety to the other side, being a lefty is annoying sometimes.
