Default Making 15/22 Pistol adhere to BATF Specs

I've got one of the new 15/22 pistols with a brace and am debating what I want to do about this. I'm not going to do anything until it comes down to the wire and we see what happens with congress.

I don't really want to go through the paperwork and register the gun as an SBR, so I'm thinking of modifying the gun to specs of the original. This would mean cutting the tube off and installing a Spikes Tactical ST22 plug and a push button sling swivel.

Can anyone here tell me if this is feasible? I realize this kind of a hack but I think it could be done well and come out looking factory but I would appreciate any input you folks have on this.

Thank you in advance!
