Default Flash Suppressors

Got my 15-22 a couple of weeks ago and just love it !!, first rifle i've owned in yrs, All i do know is shoot USPSA matches and Duck hunt so this is a little new for me.

I'm in the process of fixin' up my 15-22 and want to put a suppressor on it , do they make them for .22's? i saw one i want for Wilson Combat but it is for a 5.56 i know i need a gunsmith to thread the barrel right?

This is why i like this forum just the USPSA forum i'm in everyone is ready give good sound advice, i was going to post some pics of my 15-22 but after seeing other peoples i think wait until the transformation is complete for a before and after.

This is also my first S&W gun ever (shoot 11-87 XCS ducks & Springfield in USPSA

When you say "suppressor", I assume you mean a flash hider as opposed to a sound suppressor. Either way, you'll need to have the barrel threaded. ADCO firearms seems to get a lot of satisfied customers and good reviews for their barrel work. They charge $65 plus return shipping to thread the barrel. Then you'd have to buy a flash hider (a standard A2 will run you about $8 plus the crush washer).

This is purely cosmetic. Not threaded. It's glued! Notice no light comes thru the slots? It's just slipped over the barrel and is nearly flush with the muzzle. Shortens the apparent barrel length visually.

I still have to see how well it stays on the barrel when I shoot it.

Standard M16A2 Compensator bored out to 0.671 was the goal. It ended up bored out a little bigger and is ended up in three pieces as a couple of expert machinists didn't realize we were boring it out larger than the diameter in the grenade grooves! I used another compensator to space the grenade launcher grooves.
