Default 15-22 Scope Pics

Here's my 15-22 witha 3-9 x 50MM. It's mounted in medium rings on an AR riser with a quick release weaver mount. The centerline of the scope is exactly on the centerline of the iron sights. You don't need to pick your head up, or push your cheek into your stock. Just hold and shoot the same as always. The eye relief is ideal, compare it to the charging handle. That 50MM objective sure pulls in the details and a lot of light. The 50 yard targets don't stand a chance. Get them here http://www.thisismygun.com/targets/2-inch-zero.pdf Thanks to Thomas H.
As you can see it clears the Hogue forearm by about 1/2". The stock quad rail is about 1/4' closer
Let's see what other setups you guys and gals have.

Not telescopic so I'm not sure it's a 'scope:

Here is the M&P 15-22 as it sits in its current form. I removed the Leupold 2-7x rimfire scope from my Ruger 10/22 and using an A.R.M.S.#5 Multibase mount with Warne 1" rings, the Leupold has found a new home. I overlapped the handguard rail with the mount as I couldn't obtain the eye relief I wanted without doing so. Some say the optic mount should only contact the receiver rail. I haven't experienced any issues that I can trace back because of this configuration. The A.R.M.S.#5 Multibase is one heck of a rugged mount. I can't see it flexing.....and even if it could, it's not likely to make much of a difference at 50 yards, IMO.

with and without the sunshade. The riser helped tremendously. No more having to bare down into the stock.

depends on the optic you want to mount and how you want to use it. what are you planning to mount?

you shouldn't need one. depends on how low/tight of a cheek weld you want. a riser will raise the scope up about 3/4 of an inch so your head can be in a bit of a more upright position when shooting. it's all personal preference.

for true accuracy over a wider range of distances the closer the optic is to the bore, the better. in this case, the 15-22 is not a match target rifle so do what works best for you.
