Default m p 15-22 stock question

Hello all, there seems to be a little play in the original stock on these m p 15-22's. My questions is has anybody changed their stock out to a moe magpul stock? If you have ( or any other stock ) was there less play? I'm new to adjustable stocks and I have to say I don't like the play in it whatsoever. If this is normal for adjustable stocks, please let me know because I am a rookie w all this AR stuff.

i put a magpul ctr on mine and the play, which i think was significant with the s&w collapsible stock, is almost completely gone. no lateral/torque movement. almost non-exsistant movement forward/back. worth the upgrade for about $90. i'll likely be getting another ctr for my .223

I've got the stock wobble on my 15-22 as well. I'm planning on replacing the factory stock with a Magpul CTR in the near future. The CTR, ACS, PRS, etc all have Magpul's "friction lock" that should cure the sloppy fit that the original stock suffers from.

Chuck, I know right? That's why I asked about the moe stock that's half that. I feel exactly the same as you but I do HATE that wobble!!!

If you're going to buy a stock, and rattles bother you that much, then my suggestion is to buy the CTR and be done with it. IMO, it's worth every penny. If expense is an issue, I've read about folks putting a small piece of electrical tape on the tube?

IMO, I don't think the factory S&W stock rattles near as much as most other ARs.

you can always take it off and put it on your .223 AR. if you don't have a .223 AR then you have an excuse to justify the cost of buying one! i can use my CTR on 2 guns if i choose.

even though it's a plinking rifle, i don't want it wobbling around. to each his own but the friction lock on the CTR is worth the money.

I agree. Besides, I how many ARs are actually used for much more than plinking or holding down the closet floor?

I don't use my Bushmaster .223 for daily combat in Chattanooga, hunting or home defense. I paid about $600 +/- for it. So.... to me it's just a $600 plinker with a CTR.
