Gotta thank Old#7
Did the short 10 round magazine mod that Old#7 posted. Also did the assist button mod while I was at it. Came out great and functions like a factory mag. Perfectly!Total time to do this was about 10 minutes. It took longer for the epoxy to dry. To me the long mag. hangs down to far but that's just me.

Nice work! I'm so tempted to order a couple extra mags and do this mod myself but I'm trying to hold out in hopes that some short 10 round mags are produced by either S&W or an aftermarket company... There's definitely a market for them someone just has to capitalize on it!
If none are released I'll eventually do this as I really want some short mags for hunting this summer. And yes, thanks again Old#7. You did an excellent write up explaining how to do this!

I just finished my 10 rounder about 10 minutes ago and I'm letting the glue dry right now. Can wait to try it out. Thanks to Old #7

I wish I were talented enough to do this.
As it is, I sit and wait for BDM to get off their asses and put out a ten rounder.

Know what looks worse? A long magazine that's only loaded with 10 rounds.

Thanks you guy's.
Skidder - you did a good job also.
Temporaryscars - It's wasn't all that hard, as long as you got a saw or something to cut the mag. with, glue, and a pair of side-cuts to cut the spring to length you should be set. Took me a total time of 30min. to do.

The only time mine ever has 10 rounds in it is when I've already shot 15

Yes well, it's the price we pay for not having to live in a third world state.

I wouldn't move to California if you paid me twice what I make now and I didn't even have to work.

patrick you are a troll and completely rude, to the other guys that looks like you did a great job, and you are right they look better than the huge mags with a 10 rd capacity

Well hey guess what Patrick, I didn't do it for "The looks". I did it because I wanted to have a shorter mag for when I zero in instead of having the big 25 rounder stopping me from getting lower to the table/ or ground. It's also nice to have for a little hunting mag.

Rip you are right everyone has an opinion. Patrick sorry you feel this way but unfortunately some of us aren't as lucky and have to live by the laws of the state we live in but ya know we all still get to shoot so maybe we just have to reload a little more often. I look at it this way, I and others get to save a bit on ammo and stay a little longer at the range. Ain't no biggie to me. And in my opinion I think the short mag looks better and it's something S&W had posted on there site but failed to issue cause they were in to much of a hurry to get guns sold to us in compliant states. Hey guess your lucky you get to shoot 25 rounds at a time. Wow good for you.
