Default Cal Compliant Mags

Could someone post a picture of a California compliant magazine? That is, if the picture will show how they cripple the 25 round mag to make it only accept 10 rounds. I talked to S&W sales today and they said that a shorter ten round magazine is in the works but probably won't be available for a couple of months. Thanks in advance.

"Cripple" is a good word...

You can't see it easily in a picture, but S&W molded a steel pin inside the magazine body to prevent the blue follower from going any lower (thus accepting more rounds).

Check my "DIY" sticky at the top of this forum, as it has some mag pictures in there -- but to see the pin, you either look in from the side, or remove the bottom and look up.

Good luck,

Old No7

Thanks for the quick get back. I can't pick up my 15/22 until Friday but after shooting it I'll see if I can live with a magazine that is over twice as long as it needs to be. If not I'll do your mod. Thanks for the excellent mod presentation!!

Does the plastic give any indication that it might shatter when cutting on the table saw?

Thanks again for the help.

IDK if I would use a table saw on synthetics but something with more and finer teeth like a band or scroll saw even a hand saw would work well
