Can't remove barrel nut
Made the tool out of PVC and tried to remove the barrel nut off of my 15-22 and BROKE the teeth, not ONCE but TWICE?
Guess I wil have to try to make one out of conduit or buy one already made

I would recommend the already made steel wrench. I have never had any problems, and I have removed and assembled many barrels for different shrouds, for cleaning, Etc.

You will appreciate the ability to remove your barrel and clean all the areas you can't get to when the rifle is assembled.
Post some pics of your Barrel Nut Tool when you get it in. And pics of the crud left from previous good cleanings.
The more information we can all share the better for all of us.

I have the Tacticool socket. It fits great. $22 well spent, IMHO. My barrel nut was tight, too.

It looks to be well built.. A little stronger than the "Snaggle Tooth PVC Socket (Tm)"
I'm fortunate to have lots of Machinist buddies.. My Co-Worker has a garage chock full of lathes and mills.. (ok well he has at least one of each and the rest is fixturing) He is working on a one piece deep well barrel socket for me.
Honestly $22 is cheap for the right tool for the job.

I bought mine. On Ebay. Search 15-22 barrel nut socket. If you can't find it, lemme know, and I'll find it for you.

If someone would supply me with accurate dimensions I'll see if I can make up a dozen or so barrel wrenches and then I can offer them here for sale for a very reasonable price, Shoo

I think it's okay for me to tell you where the web page is that you can buy these. Tacticool22.com | Products, News, and Resources for .22 Caliber Tactical Firearms Once you use this wrench, you will not regret buying it. It is not as satisfying as making your own. I know, I made my own. Now I'm selling my knowledge. Good luck shooboy, I wish you the best. Competition is a good thing. Be sure to post pics when you are finished with your model.
