I think it's an okay deal. Let's say they ship it back as is, you then lose the time of not having the rifle while you seek out somone else to do the job for what, $65? At least this way you can always say this was a factory performed upgrade if you want to sell the rifle. Just my 2cents.

$96 for threaded barrel and suppressor- deal or no deal?
Gentlemen, I had to send my gun back to S&W (2nd time) for a out of battery firing. Left the shell in the gun so there would be no question of what happened. I included a note that if they needed to repair the barrel could they please replace with a threaded barrel. After a week and a half I called and they said they were waiting for my reponse to their letter indicating that the charge would be $96.
What do you think? deal or no deal?

Well, chances are their replacing your original barrel.
If that's the case, I guess $96 is not a bad price.
It's up to you, you can get your original threaded for less, and I'm sure your barrel isn't damaged from a 22lr oob.

For that price, you might consider what Belt_Fed can hook you up with.
What ammo were you using #1 and #2 OOB?

Not an outrageous price for having the factory upgrade you to threaded barrel and suppressor.
If you want to save some $$$ and go aftermarket, you can always contact Belt_Fed, he can hook you up.

as SOCOM stated they will probably just replace your barrel. for $96 i think it's a pretty decent deal. the shipping to/from is already paid for and you don't have to provide the flash hider. because the factory is doing it, if you ever have an issue with the threading for whatever reason, you have a place to send it back to for restitution. they've already got your gun, pull the trigger and get it over with.

If you do go for the $96 option, make sure you get your old barrel back too.

Welcome. If you want to offset some of the cost you might ask
Belt_Fed if he needs a 15-22 barrel. I think he was asking S&W for a barrel recently.

Yeah man... an integrated suppressed 15-22... awesome!
That design is BA. Are you going to offer it to the guys here or was it just a one-off custom?
