Default Found a Rear Sling Plate that fits the 15-22 Buffer

I've been trying to find a way to attach a dual point convertible sling (with clasps) to the 15-22. Being that the rear buffer tube is molded with the receiver, the normal relief you find at the bottom of the buffer tube at the castle nut on an AR is not present, so many plates will not attach or work. I found a Midwest Industries end plate adaptor (MCTAR-13 from Bravo Company) that looked like it would work, so I ordered it. It came today, along with some AR goodies. The end plate was easily attached by just slipping it over the buffer tube and then securing the allen nut. I actually reverse installed it since putting it on the correct way canted the swivel rearwards (not that it’s a big deal since the design is made to fit over the castle nut which doesn’t apply on the 15-22). I closed the ACS stock and found the last position is no longer due to the depth of the MCTAR-13s design. Not an issue for me as I don’t fire the rifle from that stock position. The MS-2 sling attached easly and seems to work without an issue. The front swivel does not though, I may have to go to an H&K like loop for that claw to work correctly. Provided FYI. Enjoy!

I have one of those on mine and it works great. I added a little bit of thin rope to it in order to make it function more like a true ambidextrous mount. I like it even better after doing so.

Been running the same item. But I am trying to find a way to get a fake castle nut (or at least the look) on there. For some reason it really bugs me the way the buffer tube "molds" into the receiver.

I really am obsessed with this little gun...

The only thing I can think of (at the moment) is to make one out of plastic and then cut it at one point... carefully spread it and slide it over the tube and then glue it back together once you have it on there.... (If there isn't enough give to be able to spread it without messing it up you might have to cut it all the way in half and then glue it back together) You might be able to make it out of PVC pipe if nothing else, assuming you could find a piece with the correct diameter. I'm not sure how else you would do that.

If you had the resources you could make it out of metal, cut it in half and screw it back together once in place. That would probably be the closest you could get to the real thing and it'd be the most durable. Plastic would be easier to work with though for the average person.

they make collars to put on rods as positive stops.. they use 2 bolts to hold them together.. a man could find 1 of those close to the dia. and mod it to work
