Threaded barrel?
My question is I currently own a S&W ar 15, I am interested in getting the 22 version. But I have a yhm 5.56 suppressor going throught the atf as we speak. Since this suppressor has a quick detach form the flash hider will the threads work on the 22 version as it would the 5.56? Thanks

The threads are 1/2" - 28 Pitch which I assume is "the standard" for AR's. Yes it should work if it's set up for 1/2-28.

you need to buy another qd for the phantom 556.. they are about 70 bucks and it will need to be in 1/2-28 thread.. you do not need to swap the qds back and forth that defeats the purpose... no special paperwork is needed for the qds just call yhm and order them

What does the QD look like for the YHM silencers? I couldn't find a picture of one on the web site, does it remotely look like what Gemtech uses on the Halo?

Thanks for the link to the photo... Kind of bulbous looking! It's a shame the Halo is so dang expensive, it really has one of the slickest attachment setups out there!

actually I think I payed like 658 but that is the stainless steel on and I did look at a halo that was like 699. but the problem with the halo is that they have problem with the qd from them because they are universal, and I heard to many mixed reviews. And I heard both fired suppressed and the yhm was alittle more silent.

From what I understand about the Halo QD is that it must be used on a timed A2 with a peel washer only, or on the VLTOR specific flash supressor. I guess people have had issues using them on anything with a crush washer and non standard flash supressors.
Nothing wrong with YHM at all, I just really like the Halo's QD that's all.

I totally agree with you on that, I kinda was leading to the halo for along time. but the guy I bought the yhm gave me a deal only because he set up a trust for me free with the purchase, I had to have a trust because of the local law. And I avoided lawyer fees so it turned out ok

Ouch that's kinda pricey on the phantom... but if he set the trust up for free then I guess its all ok... ya I've fired them both beside 1 another I still think the yhm is the better unit.. but that's just my .02... if you could see the abuse we have put a phantom threw and it not mess up... people would buy nothing else... very good product

yea I def think it will be the best to go ahead and get a 22 so I dont have to worry about that subsonic crack of a 223 and a 22 wont have any of that. If that dont work maybe a old fashion sling shot

Your m&p will still have that sonic boom along with a bolt gun if you run hv ammo threw it which is what the m&p likes... but a pistol doesn't have enough barrel length to get most hv ammo super sonic... but a bolt gun with target ammo or sub sonics and adding a table spoon of water to your can... the click of the hammer falling and the bullet striking the target r the 2 loudest sounds
