Default 50 round drum

Has anyone used the 50 round drum from Black Dog Machine? Price is a little steep at $90, but it would be nice not to have to reload as often.

I doubt the experience was satisfactory since the note states:

"This drum will not work on the 10.22, the Puma/PPS50, M261, Colt/DPMS kits, Carbon 15, nor the S&W M&P 15.22." (emphasis added)

The price is keeping me from trying one. I've got ten 25 round for mine. Keeps me occupied for a couple of minutes

from their website: " New from Black Dog Machine LLC the long awaited S&W M&P 15.22 50 round drum.

These are modified AR15.22 Drums. They have been epoxied for extra strength and then CNC milled to fit in your S&W mag well.

This drum will not work on the 10.22, the Puma/PPS50, M261, nor any other AR15.22 type conversion units."
Where did you see other info.?

It is pretty tempting... If I wouldn't have bought a .22 conversion for my 1911 last week I would buy one right now!

Honestly at only 50 rounds, I'd rather just load standard mags and change them. For some odd reason I have a feeling this drum mag is a bear to load...

this could answer the question if the mags are to blame for some of the problems.

Also I noticed they have a 50 rd drumb tower conversion kit. I wonder if there is a way to adapt that to other .22 drumbs/mags that don't currently fit the 15-22?

honestly.. if these run well id rather have a couple of these... i keep hearing people say they can mag change mags pretty quick and they then have 50 rds just like these hold.. but if ive got 1 of these and 2 back up mags im toating 100 rds down range on a tac coarse between this and my pistol... i may not even need the mag changes but more time plinking is more time plinking
