Not my gun. I found this on ar15.com and wanted to share.



For anyone who has done this.... Can you simply take more off the BAD and not mod the gun to make this work???

Well not having recieved my 15-22 yet, I can not answer your question completely. If it is similar to the standard AR, there are no modifications that need to be done at all to add the BAD lever. I have one on my AR and it takes about 30 seconds to install with no mods needed at all. I don't know if this is true for the 15-22, but I will be getting one and installing it when I receive my rifle.

Sorry, just went and read the thread you linked, and it looks like you have to gring the lower receiver. I will not be doing this, doesnt seem like something I want to do to my rifle. I will se if there is another way of doing it once I receive mine and post my findings.

If you read ar15.com thread, he states that he modified both the gun and the BAD. I was wondering if shaving down the BAD alone would do the trick without modding the gun.

IIRC the 15/22 lower is wider or something different than a stock AR lower so people wouldn't try to run with .223 ammo.
So even tho the internals are mostly the same the externals differ.
Since the 15/22 is a synthetic lower and not metal was the reason for that.

It would be much easier to make the lever yourself or find someone ingenious enough here to do it, Trust me the people are here.

This is what I am thinking. I have one on my AR, so I will give it a try and see how it works.It it won't work I will fabricate something myself.

Then make 30 of them and sell them at 10 bucks a pop. "I'm rich"!!
