Just wanted to make a quick thread showing off my new toy. I am sure you guys have seen it before, but hey, threads useless without pics right?

I picked up a new 15-22 yesterday at a small local gun show. I think I got a not-too-bad deal on it as I paid $420 for it out the door. I took it to a handgun range we have since it's been raining here and my normal shooting places are all mud holes. That second picture is after I put about 150 rounds through it getting the sights setup to the way I hold the gun. I am very new to rifles, especially what I would call the AR style of the 15-22.

Of course, I plan on modifying the gun, and I am just beginning to learn about the different things I can do to the gun from here. I have been looking around on here since last night trying to get some ideas for the toys I want to get for the rifle. My first purchase is going to be a red dot sight, because frankly, it just looks cool on this gun and I like the idea of being able to get my field of view outside those cramped iron sights. My second purchase is going to be one, or maybe two additional magazines since I get tired of reloading after 25 rounds. Third thing I want is the tactical light for the front, but since that's all for show, it's subject to being moved down the list for other items that will actually help the gun.

I am open to people's opinions on the sight, I am having a hard time finding what I want. I would like something small, accurate, bright (I live in Southern Oklahoma) and around the $50 mark.

Anyways, thanks for a nice forum with alot of good info. I look forward to learning about this gun!

Welcome, enjoy your new rifle. They are fun little buggers aren't they?
Don't forget extra mags, 44mag has the best deal I've found.
Congrats

Very much so. I love the fact that I can waste 550 rounds for $15. Would a real .223 have been more fun? Maybe, but I am not in a position to put down $1200 for a gun plus $350 for 1000 rounds of .223.

I saw that 44mag.com site, and our mags for a pretty good price. I am going to see if the pawn shop I got my gun from will make me a better deal then then $25 he quoted me at the gun show.
