15-22's first day out was a disaster
Every other round it would jam, the previous round would fail to fully eject and get lodged in the receiver. I was shooting Federal Premium bulk...
This is one of the newer revisions, it has the blue springs. I am going to give it a thorough cleaning and trying different ammo, if it keeps it up I don't know what I am going to do.
If I didn't have my new Ruger SR-556 to enjoy, the day would have been ruined.

That's easy, send it in and have fixed. When it gets back, you will start thinking about selling that 556. My buddy has the 556 and he says it's just a ruger 10/22 with an archangel kit. He wants to sell it and by an MP.

You may want to check the position of you ejector. I was having FTE's (not as bad as yours) and it seem an adjustment to the ejector resolved the problem. Break down the rifle and slide the bolt assembly into the receiver. Once it gets to the ejector notice it's position relative to the bolt. It should be inward to the center rail on the underside of the bolt about an index card's thickness away. Also, it should be adjusted upward so that it is an index card's distance from the underside of the bolt. I wish I had a camera that could get a good picture of what I am describing.
After I made this adjustment to mine the spent casing were flying out in an upward direction instead on downward or not at all.
The other thing that I believed helped my 15-22 was the lighter JP springs. They allow the hammer to be pushed back with less force and improve cycling in my opinion. You also get the improvement on the trigger pull.
Hope this works for you like it did for me.

I think you're confused, the SR-556 is Ruger's AR-15 rifle, not a .22

You're probably thinking of the SR522.

while you are cleaning it, take the bolt and slide a round ( or a few ) into the extractor and see if it will hold them? or do they fall out?.
