Default Red Dot and Dot placement

Hi guys,

I just installed a red dot on my 15-22, its just a PA m3 but for this application i think its a perfect fit.

After i installed the red dot i can look though the iron sights and see it but its sitting on top of the T.

is that the correct placement of the red dot or should it be dead center of the front sight T.

I have the 15-22 mre edition that came with the flip up sights.

thanks for any info.

The red dot should be adjusted to point where the bullet hits on the target, without regard to any other part of the rifle.

Not sure what the "top of the T" might be.

With a co-witnessed red dot sight the dot should be at the tip of the front sight looking thru the iron sights.

The use of a "high" mount is normally required to co-witness the dot and irons. Two (oft posted) photos show a higher mount. First on my parts box Tasco with a riser rail, and second a clone aimpoint with high cantilever mount.

Once mounted and zeroed you no longer look thru the irons if the dot is working, just acquire the dot and pull the trigger.
