I'm putting new iron sights (Troy clone) on my new 15-22. Anyone have any tricks for getting on paper fast? I've run a couple of searches and came up dry.

If your stock iron sights are dialed in and you have access to a gun vise (or similar device), you can mount the rifle sighted on a spot, carefully swap the sights without moving the rifle and then dial the new ones into that spot... that'll get you close.

That being said, even with sights that are wildly out of adjustment, if you have a local sand pit to shoot in, you should be able to observe off-paper impacts and get onto the paper with 2 or 3 shots at relatively short distances.

No pics, they haven't arrived yet. I saw another post here that mentioned them at rrages.com. So, I searched for the site and bought them.

Seems I may have caught something from the folks here, I hadn't even picked up my 15-22 yet and already purchased five accessories - everythings in the mail.

You could pull the upper and remove the bolt and sight it in right through the barrel. Peer down the barrel and find you a target about 25 yds out then set your sights to it.

That is bore sighting, works great.

Wal-Mart has those laser bore sighters next to the ammo cage for like $30 bucks. Use it and take full advantage of their wonderful 90 day no question return policy when ur done with it haha! That is of course only if you don't like the product
