Default new m&p 15-22 owner

just purchased my M&P 15-22, serial number DUU, has the new mag and blue bolt spring, haven't fired it yet, about to clean it. neighbor dry fired it once, should have told him about it before hand, but alas too late. will one dry fire damage firing pin or other components? Really anxious about this, I know its my own stupid fault. Any replies would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to sharing and learning with everybody

I would not worry about it. This question has been asked before, with several people saying they dry fire regularly with no ill effects. However, it's not recommended to dry fire just the lower without the upper attached.
