Default got it finally..few things

Picked it up yesterday.. Ordered from jetguns got to FFL 2 days later.. 350!!

anyways.. added all the magpul stuff to it today when i got home.. and a PA m3 / 3x combo.

im new to guns in general so this will sound dumb but... any (constructive) comments on the set up? just looking to make sure ive got it set up the best way possible with what i got.

also.. this red dot alone, looks nothing like a dot. on lower brightness (1-3) its very distinct that its like 4 or 5 little dots.. its almost in shape of a line. turning up to 7 brightness it blends togher a little but still not really a dot. doesnt look anything like pics of the red dots ive seen!

w/ the magnifier in front of it.. it helps it look more like a dot.. tried to take a pic but it doenst come out too well..

It looks pretty good in terms of being Magpulled up. I personally would prefer a grip or thicker covers as I don't like gripping rails.

For the red dot- are you looking through the magnifier when you see the scattered pattern?

From what I recall the emitter is several sources focused into one dot, so when you look at it a scattering effect may be noticed. Take it to the range and focus your eyes on a target that's at least 20 yards out. See if that makes the dot focus more. My PA M3 will have a "burst" effect when I look at anything close like items in my home, more so on brighter settings. At the range with the intensity dialed down so the dot isn't brighter than need be it looks like a tight dot. Not perfectly round or without the small tail, but for a $70 clone you can't expect a perfectly round orb.

99% it's your eyes, not the dot. I can make all of my red dots do the same thing you are describing by taking off my regular glasses, or by putting on my reading glasses. Try this. Take the scope off the rifle and hold it in your hand. Look through it and see that 'almost shape of a line' you're describing. Now rotate the scope while looking through it. Notice the 'line' doesn't rotate along with the scope?

To get the most out of a red dot sight keep both eyes open and focus on the target, not the dot. The red dot will simply appear to lay upon the target.

The issue most common with red dot is the appearance of flaring when turned up on brighter settings.
