Barska Scope?
can anyone tell me if this is a decent scope to put on my 15-22 for longer range, i have a primary arms m4 red dot but want something that would be better at long range but do not want to spend a lot and i like the amount of eye relief you get with this scope.

I would not do it....(again). I had the exact scope. My accuracy was way off. It would not hold zero. I swapped it out and put it on a 10-22. The top turret fell off. Barska "warranty" is limited (no explanation). I have to ship it back at my expense and include $20.00 for them to even look at the scope??!!
I’ll post the final result but it takes one to one and a half months (Barska’s estimate), to make a decision if they will replace it!!??
(9 months old).

I have one of these, actually the second one. The reticle in my first one started rotating after six months and when it finally got to the 90 degree mark, I decided to send it back rather than try another scope as I have another type Barska on my Ruger Charger and it works fine. I mailed the "handling" fee and the scope back to Barska. I received a replacement about three weeks later. This one is about two months old and so far, works great. Not the best scope around probably but you get what you pay for.

I've had Barska scopes before, there are much better products out there. Some cheaper and and better.
One the SWFA site there is a Weaver 2.5-7x28 for $140. Only $20 more than the Barska and a world apart in quality and reliabilty.

I have the Weaver 2.5-7x28 and the Leupold 2-7x28(actual it's probably 2.5-7) and both are great rimfire scopes

I have found Barska scopes to be lacking in most every way.
I had a Leapers Bug Buster on my 1000 fps spring piston rifle for a few years and it was a great scope for the money, good clarity, and excellent repeatability in a compact design. If it can take the heavy reverse recoil of a spring piston gun it should do just fine on a .22lr

I would not say Barska is TOTAL junk, but mostly. I have tried (3) low cost scopes. Only one is still working.
I have had better luck for low cost scopes with BSA. They are not the greatest, yet the ones I have, have been good. I have (2) of the Sweet .22 scopes. They are great for the low cost. I have over 1,000 through the one on my MP15-22.

barska products
I bought a Barska, too! It was junk, just as others have stated. The red dot would not adjust, it was way out of center. Save your money and get something better. Mikey

This is what happens when you buy junk for your rifle, sorry but I don't mince words. This site is so full of wannabes with $50 scopes and fake red dots it's rediculous. When it comes to optics you can buy quality once or buy junk first and the quality when you realize the $50 "clone" is nothing more than a toy made to look like a real scope.

Tried a Barska Electro scope on my 15-22 and it was absolute garbage. The clicks for adjusting the zero were not uniform in how far they moved the recticle. Sometimes one click wouldnt move it at all and sometimes one click would move it too much. Then if you could finally manage to get it on zero, all it took was a fly to land on it to knock it off zero.
I got a leapers Red-Dot in its place and I love it.

Huh... I put the same thing on my 15-22 and put about 250 round through it last weekend, held zero whole time. Then went back yesterday and put well over 500 rounds through it yesterday. Both my son (11 years old) and I can keep most within a quarter size at 25 yards. I had to re-tweak it only once because my son changed the reticle and it moved by about 1/2 inch. That is my only complaint is if you change the reticle it seems to move zero. Considering my eyes are not the best, I am very happy with the zero hold, and grouping. Magnification would be a plus, but this is only a short range plinker for me anyway.
Is it worth $100? No... but for the $40 I spent on it, I say it was money well spent.
