Default 15-22 Buttstock

I am looking at buying a 15-22. I live in the GREAT state of NJ which does not allow the collapsible stock. My question is can you swap out the evil collapsible stock for a standard M-16/AR-15 stock?

yes but you need to remove the factory buttstock and make sure the new stock is fixed into its location.

I don't believe you can as the lower receiver extension tube is actually molded to the lower receiver on the 15-22. That's assuming we're on the same level and I'm thinking of the stock you're thinking of.

*edit: is this the stock you're thinking of?

Oh yeah I didn't even think about the fact he might be asking for a fixed stock to make it NJ legal. You have to buy the compliant version for NJ. Stock is already fixed on the compliant version.

These look like they could help you get 15 round mags:

they make factory ten rds. i'd be leary of the blocker unless the floorplate was permanently attatched. i'm not sure about nj awb laws but if the floorplate wasn't fixed it might be considered an illegal mag because it could easily be converted back to 25rds

You could drill in a rollpin and block the plate from sliding off. The 10 rd mag just has an internal pin. I am thinking with the visible orange plug it would be more easy to identify, especially if you to to 15 rounds?

You can buy any standard mil spec stock and have it professionally pinned at a fixed spot. ADCO as well as many others perform this service which is nice because they ensure its compliant for your state and it gives you a little extra protection should someone ever question the work.

Any stock that requires modifying the buffer tube cannot be used on the 15-22, which really sucks. I've got a spare Magpul UBR stock sitting here that would be nice to try on my plinker. but it's not going to happen.

Good luck and let me know if you have any questions.

No the 15-22 will come with a pinned stock, meaning it will have a collapsible stock but they put a roll pin in the middle of it so it wont collapse. You could take the pin out. but your stuck with that stock as the 15-22 stock and lower half are one piece.
i live in ny and im in the same boat
