Wink Position of the Front and Rear Sights

On what notches of the top rail must the front & rear sights be positioned? Should I use the very first notch for the front sight and the very last notch for the rear sight? I took the sights off to see how my rifle would look with only a red-dot scope on the top rail.

There are 3 symptoms of old age. The first is loss of memory and I can't remember the other two.

The sights come from the factory positioned so that the front of the front sight as flush with the front end of the top rail, the rear of the rear sight is flush with the back of the rail. The owners manual also has lots of pics for reference.

In all honesty, you can put them wherever you want them, just sight the rifle in with them in the position you like.

If not reading instructions is one of the other symptoms, I've been old for a while now.

Sight placement determines the sight radius, which helps accuracy. The further the distance between sights the better chance of good accuracy. I have a Sight Mark reflex sight on mine, its what I could afford.( @ $50) I am amazed at the accuracy with this sight. Using it with both eyes open, wherever the dot is, the bullet hits. I hope this helps. I am an instruction manual nut, I love reading all the technical stuff. Problem is, being old I forget right away. The up side; I only own one manual.
