Hi all, I'm new to guns in general and the 15-22 is my first carbine, and I just wanted to leave some more positive feed-back on this awesome little rifle.
I was kind of worried when I was researching which one to get as I saw all the feed-back about FTF's, FTE's, and the like but so far I've run around 1700 rounds in the week I've had it and only had about 7 faults total. I got the 15-22 and did a THOROUGH cleaning on it before firing it (per the manual, also mine has the blue springs) then went out and shot 300 rounds of CCI mini-mags and Winchester Super-X's with no problems at all. The only faults I got happened after I tried some Fed Ammo (36gr lead, and the Walmart redbox); so, for me, Fed Ammo = no go. Alternately I tried some Winchester 555 (36gr JHP ~$0.50 more than Fed box)from Walmart that has significantly more kick to it and 0 faults--so more fun to shoot and may operate the bolt better?
The only thing is I shoot at indoor ranges here so no rapid fire. The second time I went out I went a little faster with the Fed stuff and got my first FTE, then got a warning
So, rapid fire and lesser ammo may be a bad combo; I haven't had a chance to check that out.
To sum up for potential buyers: Get it! Get it! I love mine and plan on using it a ton; it's a DURxxxx model with blue springs and it's been really great so far, and very accurate up to the 25yd lane limit.
