Front Sight Mount
Anyone know of a front sight mount that mounts on the barrel?
Or possibly a mount I can install on the barrel that can support my included front sight?
Basically I am looking to get the front sight off the forend.
Thanks in advance

There's so much room on top of the rail that having the site at the front end shouldn't be an issue for the other things you may want to mount on top. Can you tell us why you're looking to get the site off the top?

JP Enterprises makes a bolt on A2 front sight, it's expensive ($119) but it clamps on. You will need to have a shim machined to fit between the barrel and the sight. The 15-22 barrel is .670(ish) and the A2 sight post is .750 ID.

There are similar ones that have an integral folding front sight as well, not sure about them being clamp on though.
You can also get a normal gas block, it just needs to be high to use a sight that would normally go on the rails.

There are a few folding sights that are clamp on (don't like them) a gas block with integrated 1913 would work, if it clamps on. If you go any other route the barrel is going to have to be cross drilled for straight or taper pins.

FWIW I just found that Brownells has an A1 post listed from DoubleStar with a .625 bore diameter. It would be easier to have this bored out to the correct .670 diameter of the 15-22 barrel. The post is $37.44
