Recommend me a decent, sturdy, inexpensive bipod please
My cheap ($10) UTG I picked up at the gunshow crapped out on me today after about 300 rounds. The spring that holds the detent on one of the legs went flying for no apparent reason...
Heres what I had...
I'd prefer it be quick detatch, but not a necessity. Would like to stay under $50. Stability is most important to me. Prefer a 9-13" as most of my shooting is done off a waist high table with no seats.
Thanks!

I just bought the UTG OP2 bipod (harris clone) havent got to shoot it yet but seems pretty sturdy. I deployed it and moved it around while holding the legs still and didnt seem like it would break plus it was only $20

I bought a Shooters Ridge Rock Mount 9-13 last night locally on sale for $34.95. I handled it alongside the Harris 9-13 and couldnt see any discernable difference. I bet you could lay them both on the table and 99% of people would get them mixed up and not be able to tell one from the other.
Mounts solid, no rattles. Good spring action, no wobbles. What's not to like?
I admit I like the idea of owning a harris better, but apart from the warranty, I can't see any difference. Much less a difference that would warrnt spending 2x more on the harris.
Just my 2 cents.

I see you had the older model UTG which was ****. They have vastly improved with their OP-2 bipod. I am very happy with it and no problems yet. Everyone that sees my gun thinks it is a Harris and it has that quality.

felt up my new TMS, way nicer than i was expecting, very solid metal feel with very strong springs, watch your fingers! The feet are button push extendable, and then can bet set at the various numbered positions and locked. mount is strong and durable, and this is something the utg op2 doesn't have, I think those are just a solid one-piece up top. Haven't found a use for the 'bull nose ring' yet.. haha. glad i went with this one. Also states it only weighs 9.5oz, compared to 16oz of most the competitors.
FIGURES it goes on sale 2 days after I buy it. Now $33 shipped.

its too late im already biased towards TMS now But what is the 'bull nose ring' thingy on the front? are these sling mounts or attachment spots for something? doesn't seem durable enough for much.

Thanks all. I'm leaning toward the Shooters Ridge and the TMS... Going to order something in the next couple weeks I think. Will be shooting off my range bag(a re-purposed laptop bag) until then, doesn't work TOO bad. I shoot my Marlin 25n off it quite a bit.
