its probably a typo.. a 500rd box only runs $20 if that.
when they put CASE in their title it is probably assumed that it is for 10 boxes of 500.
so it comes out to $16 per box of 500.

Take me back to school and Splain it to me...
Federal comes (or used to) in 550 bulk packs. Now I see them in 525s also. A case contains 10 of the little half pint milk cartons. So if you buy a case of 10, you get either 5250 or 5500.
The CCI stuff comes in the traditional 500 round bricks. So you get 10 of them or 5000.
I have yet to see any study on how many go bang out of that number.
I was one of the hated people who just took a drive a couple of years ago. I visited all the Wally Worlds close to where I live or my work travels. I paid $13.47 before sales tax, something just above $14 a box, $144. a case.
Yes, the current WallyWorld price yesterday was 18.97 before tax, putting it just over $20 a box. It reveals several things. First, the $159 a case shipped is a good price by today's standards. Its not so great compared to 2 years ago. But the government tells us there is no inflation. They must be right because gasoline is only up 50% over that period, too.
This is not the time, nor are the prices favorable to stockpile gold or ammo. Or gasoline, if you can figure out how.

Amen brother! New shooters that have gotten into the sport in the last couple of years haven't seen prices like this, so jump on it when they do...making me cringe knowing that the more they sell at these prices the longer it's going to take for them to drop back down. Anyone who's been around has seen prices come back down and should know it would fall farther if demand eased...sorry just mumbling to myself

There's a reason that food and fuel aren't included in the inflation index.
