Is that honestly the best solution you could come up with? A scope in rings on a rail attached to a detachable carry handle attached to a flat top?

RRA make the Hi-Rise Cantilever Scope Mount #AR0130T for around $60.

Way simpler.

Well, let me see..........hmm, maybe not the BEST solution, but it works for me! I wanted the carry handle w/rear sight, the A-2 front site, and yet be able to use both iron sights AND scope.

With THIS solution (scope), I'm getting consistent 2" to 3" groups at 100 yards using a bench rest. (And improving all the time!) With the irons, I can keep tight groups in the 9 and X ring, which I'm happy with. So what's not to like????

True, if that's what you want, rock on.

I was just saying that with a flat top you could get the scope mounted at a more comfortable angle and remove it and run old school with the carry handle if you wanted.

It looks nice, it just looks a little Rube Goldberg.

Actually, a very high scope mount, with most .22 ammo, will result in a much smaller change, if any, in 25- and 100-yard zeros. And it also gives lots of room for a cheek pad, if you want, while there's about none at the normal height. I'm not using a high setup, and it may look awkward, but I can see it actually working quite well. And that's probably what he's after. :-)

NC Free Float Handguard

When I get it mounted on the rifle, I'll be sure to post pics.
