Default New Owner with a couple questions.

Hello everyone, picking up my 15-22 next week and have a few questions to ask.

I'm wanting a decent scope to put on the new rifle. I'm looking for something in the 4xX-40 range. I would prefer to keep it under $100, do you guys have any suggestions? I mean I know I could spend $50 more than my goal there and get a Nikon Prostaff and be happy, but I'd really like to stay below that $100 if it's possible.

Also, one of the first accessories that I want to put on it is a bi-pod. I've read several places about the UTG brand and that they work ok with the weapon.

I've found several on Amazon, just curious if any of you have or know which of these are compatible with the weapon without any modifications.

Amazon.com: UTG Bipod, SWAT/Combat Profile, Adjustable Height, Rubberized Stand: Sports & Outdoors

Amazon.com: UTG Tactical OP Bipod - SWAT/Combat Profile Adjustable Height: Sports & Outdoors

Amazon.com: UTG Low-Profile Deluxe Universal Picatinny & Swivel-Stud Bipod: Sports & Outdoors

Do you have any recommendations for a foregrip and are they easy to install as well? One such as this: Amazon.com: UTG Ambi Foldable Tactical Foregrip with 5 Adjustable Positions: Sports & Outdoors

Do you guys have any suggestions for a new owner? I was also pondering the thought of buying a bulk case of 5K round of the CCI Blazer. Can CCI Stingers be used ok with this rifle?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read my post. Hope y'all have a great day.

Greetings,

Before you buy any ammo in great quantity, buy a couple of boxes of several different recommended ammo(in the manual) and try them out. You will notice differences in how they group and function. I made the very mistake of buying the Fed. bulk from Cabella's(2100 rnds.) and it shoots like **** through my gun. CCI ammo works very well and it may be just what you want but you won't know until you try some out.

As far as the bi-pods, the only thing that concerns me is the little physical contact the mounting bracket has with the rail. I think but have no actual experience with, you could run the risk of breaking the rail. Maybe not.

Good luck to you! Enjoy.

Hobie

Default Stingers

You're fine if you don't have the Performance Center model.

To go low cost get the NcStar AR riser with quick release mount and some low rings. Now you can put any scope you want on your rifle.
Tasco makes a nice 3-9x50 low cost scope. Get whatever scope seems to fit you the best. Your eye will like some reticles better than others, so look through a lot of scopes.

With the 25 round magazine the low profile bipod may not extend long enough. I bought the sniper profile bipod from Amazon and have been quite happy with it.

My utg low profile has no clearence problem with the 25 rd mag. When shooting I have it set at the lowest setting. Just input, pick the one you like, I'm not sorry on the utg low profile.

Well, I've looked at the NC Star brand of scopes. The prices really make me want to order one, but all the reviews, some on here, some just around the i-net suggest not to buy anything they sale so.... I won't be getting a NC Star I guess.

I'm just looking for a solid plinking scope to 50-100 yards... a lot of info to dig through and with some liking nc star and that type scope for a .22 application, and some saying no way.
