I need to stop buying accessories and actually USE my 15-22! :D
I picked up my 15-22 on a whim on Sunday (never owned a rifle, and just went gun crazy a few weeks ago). I haven't even fired it yet, and so far I've bought:
1.) Konus micro red-dot sight
2.) UTG bipod
3.) UTG foregrip
4.) Magpul AFG
5.) Magpul CTR mil-spec stock
6.) Magpul B.A.D.
7.) Hogue AR15 grip
8.) UTG tactical LED flashlight w/ laser
9.) Roma assault rifle 37" case (really love this case)
10.) 3x 25-round magazines
I WILL say, though, that I did field-strip the 15-22 last night and cleaned it. So hopefully it SHOULD work ok when I get to the range.
Perhaps not original, but I've named her Barbie. She's going to be so tacticool when my accessories arrive!
Now, what's next to purchase... hmmmm.
Anyone worse than me out there? I can't be the only idiot accessorizing like crazy on a never-fired weapon?

My light 15-22 has gotten heavier after hanging a utg bipod on it plus a Ncstar green laser, NcSTAR flashlight, utgforegrip, utg rail covers, utg sling and a 3X9x40 AO scope on it, later I'm going to put a smaller version scope on it. I already miss the lightness of the gun without all these hang ons.

To each his own, but I found (through trial and error) that all I truly needed was a good optic and a good illumination device and I was good to go. Back to the roots, so to speak.
Now lets see some pics!

heh, same for me. Just bought the MOE version on Sunday afternoon, and while I wait for it (10 days in CA), I've already ordered up a bunch of extra mags and similar accessories that you listed for it.
After picking up & shooting my GSG 1911 .22lr last week, I'm now hooked on rimfire guns

Its hard NOT to buy stuff for the 15-22 but I am keeping mine basic. I made a sling for it and am keeping the open sights. I live where I am able to shoot it everyday so I just buy lots of ammo and have a blast with it.In spring It will be my walkabout gun so I want it to be light and easy to carry,,lots of chipmunks around here.

White crayon, It's in the thread's how to do it. I just took my 3X9X40 off and put a 3X12X44 AO SF on it instead, it's a more compact scope.

Ahh!
By the way, the plastic on this rifle scratches ridiculously easily. Is a "real" AR more sturdy?

I don't know this is the only ar style I own, one day I'm going to buy me a moe in 223 caliber. I really haven't noticed how easily it scratches

Yes. It is, mainly because a lower on most AR's is aluminum, with some kind of duracoating. My DPMS and CMMG don't have any wear on them compared to the M&P 15-22. Try rubbing some gun oil on it. It blackens up my gun's wear spots.

Just picked up some regular crayons. Hope I got the right ones. I had the choice between washable and non-washable, so I got the non-washable.

It's real easy to do ,after you fill the grooves with the crayon use wd-40 to wipe off access.

Got my NcSTAR reflex red dot sight. What a pile of ****! Seriously, what a waste of time/money.
I went straight out and bought a Konus Micro Red Dot, which is REALLY nice, and a 0.5" riser since it sits a little low otherwise. Really like the dot, and much better optics than the NcSTAR *******.
Now I still need to shoot the darn thing...
Question: I got my Hogue AR-15 grip, and I really like it, but when taking the factory grip off the 15-22, I noticed two springs, one of which fit into a little "groove" on the factory grip. The Hogue doesn't have that little indentation, so it's just pressing against the flat part of the grip. Is that OK? The other spring went into holes on the 15-22 and the Hogue grip just fine... I want to make sure I haven't done anything wrong!

Not yet, but I did finally go to the range tonight!!!!
I put 400 rounds through the 15-22, all CCI Blazer bulk pack 525. I had just one failure to fire (bad round), but ZERO feed issues/jam issues! VERY impressed. An absolute ton of fun, and the Konus red dot was fantastic. Got it zeroed, and was making nice groupings at 25 yards! VERY happy with my new rifle!
Tomorrow I'll hopefully get my Crayoning done, lol.

Nice coloring, looks good. Glad you was able to get some trigger time in. This gun is very fun to shoot. I live 10 minutes from 86 acres that I own so I get to go shooting a lot. I stopped at Dunn's sporting goods last night and bought 3 bricks of cci blazers, $13.99 a brick. Good price on blazers.

Awh, man: 1) Your lucky to own that much haha, I have to pay to go to ranges.
2) $13.99? That's a great deal. Cheapest price I've seen locally was $16

I have never shot at a range in my life, growed up on a 133 acre farm. I went to a new World class range in Sparta Il. just to see it. It was quite impressive !!!!

Magpul rail covers
EOtech 522 clone
EOtech 5x magnifier clone
Harris Bipod
And the crazy part is, I STILL NEED TO BUY THE GUN!!!

And I just bought a Knight's Armament SR15. I was dead set on a S&W M&P15, but I got the chance to hold an SR15, and that's all she wrote. Just need to wait about a week to get mine in.
Oh, and an Eotech EXPS3-0.
I'm obsessed.

I couldn't have all those goodies without wanting to shoot like crazy. I haven't even modded mine and I was pissed when my lady wanted to leave the range after dumping 550 22 rounds, and all she wanted to do was go through all my 45ACP rounds in my XD Tactical. I had two more bricks and numb fingers from constantly reloading.

What I love about the AR platform is it is like the 350 Chevy, you can add, modify and make a simple iron sight to a full blown 500y shoot the wings of a fly rifle. The main reason I am getting this M&P 15/22 is I have a box with parts left over from my two AR builds, I can outfit this one like crazy, shoot it like crazy, it functions like it's big brother but cost pennies to operate, why wouldn't you get one! Way to go S&W for designing the M&P 15/22 and doing it right.
