Ah, yeah. I saw that on another forum. I'm guessing it's an older model that had the out of battery problems. Was a little worried until I remembered that.

He has very quick reflexes, too. Stopped on a dime & held it in a safe direction with his finger off the trigger.

ok, got it. not entirely ready to fire and it goes bang. not good for gun or owner.

An out of battery discharge happens whenever then firing pin strikes the rim of a live round that is actively being chambered but before the bolt is all the way forward or "in battery".
