Kydex Dust Cover in action**video**
Hey all, one of the questions I've been asked was how well the cover worked when the gun is fired while the door is closed. The first time I tried it, it worked great only, I ended up having to change the magnet mount because it broke off after a couple firings. I have since changed the design of the magnet mount (don't worry, all the covers being sold have the magnet fix) and it doesn't give me any problems.
Anyway, as far as how the door works, I'll let the video speak for itself...
Side bar, re-closing the cover before every shot is done to show how the cover works when fired from the closed position. This isn't necessarily how you'd want to shoot the gun after installation.

I'm glad you are happy with it! The tape can be tricky, especially if the upper has been cleaned with any Teflon based cleaner (like the issues Brett248vista had). If you continue to be happy with it, which is hopefully the case, you may want to commit to gluing. Both Brett and I have. I just don't advocate doing it until you are satisfied with the fit and function.
I look forward to seeing the pics!

Dust Cover
Just installed mine today and it makes the 15-22 look $500 more expensive. Great product, it functions flawlessly. I installed it in about 15 minutes. The magnet was perfectly positioned and the cover worked when the weapon was fired with it closed. This is a wonderful update to the 15-22. It is a study in functional simplicity. Great job PainterlyShotgroup. Can I say anything more!

I was going to go out today and really run some rounds through my new dust cover equipped rifle, and guess what? We are in the middle of a snow storm. I guess I'll have to just hold my rifle in my arms and admire the new "dust covered" look. Thanks again for the way cool add on.

Nearly 3 year old thread. OP hasn't posted in almost a year. I'd say no, he is not making these anymore.
