Default Cleaning question??

How do you guys clean your brush (toothbrush in my case) that you use to clean your guns with? Soap and water or something else? I have so much old CLP on it that I feel the brush is making the gun just as dirty as it was before. Also do any of you clean down in the trigger spring area (inside the grip) of the gun. Thanks for the info-Love my 15-22, M&P 9mm, and soon to be getting either a Walther P22 or S&W 22A.

+ 1 on the new brush

As far as cleaning inside the lower, occasionally I'll spray it out with some Birchwood-Casey Gun Scrubber(synthetic safe version). Most of the time I just invert it and blow it out with some canned air to get the powder residue out of it, them put some moly-lube or FP-10 on the sear/hammer surface.
