Magazine release button
Does anybody know how to remove it to change it? I picked up an aftermarket one and it didn't come with any directions.
Thanks,
Robb

to change the mag release button you have to press the buttton fully in, while holding it in you will see a bar come out on the other side of the rifle , with the rife upeside down you can turn the bar towards tou, (counter colckwise) and the bar will unscrew from the mag release button, slowley release the old mag button ( because there is a spring behind it) line up the new button , press in the betton and rethread the bar (colckwise) hope this helps

Is the "M&P Sport" something different?
The M&P15-22 magazine catch is standard M16/AR15 parts.
Heck, you can insert an M&P15-22 magazine into the M16 or M4 carbine. If the bolt is open. Not vv due to the M&P15-22 magazine well being deliberately smaller than the M16.

The M&P-15 Sport is a 5.56 version. I have it as well as the 15-22.

Just got a new release button and magazine catch. I've read this thread ten times and still can't figure it out. When I press the button all the way, I can only turn the bar one time until it smacks into the bolt catch and won't go any further. Any help?

Go counterclockwise to loosen it. You might be going the wrong way.

Hi the mag catch should work in any AR15 type as far as I know
Might not have to do this but I did due to it hitting on the bolt release lever before getting it all the way
(You want the mag release button to be far enough down so when you depress it the other side does not go past the indents and fall down)
To take out the bolt catch all you have to do is gently tap out the roll pin (see you tube)
1 of the Best Vid I've seen on installing the mag release button (bottom of page)
Just remember to include the spring as the demo doesn’t use it for instructional purposes

Try pushing the button in further. It can be depressed pretty deep. I have to use a pencil to fully push mine in for removal.

AR-MPR AR-15 Build: Lower Part I: Magazine Catch Bolt Catch Pivot Pin - YouTube
^^^This video. It shows the step by step install of a magazine catch on an AR15. It's applicable to the 15-22. Pay attention to the parts and how they go in, then do the reverse.

Geez. The store said this was a no tool installation. I failed to realize in the video on Ndzperformance was that the bolt catch wasn't installed in the video and the magazine catch went on effortlessly. gonna try one more try to press the s*it out of it and if not, these are going back. I'm not comfortable yet tearing up my new rifle

I installed my ndz mag release (Umbrella Corp logo) with little effort without removing the bolt catch. i used a pen or something to push the button, but don't remember what.
