Default Whoops

I'm going to tell on myself about something that can cause ftfeeds. Take the mag apart to service it. When done re-install follower.....upside down. Then at the range discover what the problem is, take the base plate off of mag. Have spring propel the little latch part out into the 6" grass in front of bench. Look for said part until convinced that a snake ate it and it's gone forever. However, now that the follower is in correctly, mag performs fine. Black Gorilla tape works well until said missing part is located and purchased.

Moral of the story: A snake in the grass can be a pain in the...

hmm.. you could paint the little part like blaze orange or something. wouldn't be visible except maybe on the button part. call S&W they may just send you one. i'd doubt it's worth more than the postage.

Thank you for standing up with your confession. I hate being the
only one around here that can do stuff like that. TACC1

Yah that black keyhole shaped keeper was something that I figured would be an often lost item that would go "Thwang" in the night. Kind of like the recoil cap on a 1911...

Makes a good projectile.

I agree, S&W should perhaps change the color of that item to red or yellow vs black.

Hopefully S&W can fix you up with a new one.

If S&W can't or won't send you a replacement, let me know and I will send you one of my mag restrictors. You can trim it down to the stock height or I can do it for you.

Thank you. I've got an e-mail in to S&W and let's see what happens. I've got 4 other mags and the one that is missing a part actually works fine....now that Mr. DA has done his deeds.

Honest sir, It wasn't my fault....

Default Just got off the phone with S&W

All is right with the world. I got an e-mail from Paul Gazda refering me to the parts dept at S&W. I quickly got hooked up with Dave in customer service and in a very short period of time have the part ordered at no charge to me even though I'm the reason I need the part to begin with.

Thumbs up Dave and S&W!
